USING THE FORECAST MODELS
The disease risk models were designed as a tool to assist growers to make better management decisions by becoming aware of the links between weather conditions, disease risk and phenology. Every attempt has been made to verify the accuracy of the models, but because this is the first season of use, we will be continuing to validate and test the accuracy of the tool. We encourage your feedback and input to assist in making the product more useful. Weather data is collected from numerous stations around the state, however, conditions just a short distance away from a station can and will have times where the station data is not representative. The model forecast results are not intended to be used as the lone variable in defining your spray program, but instead, as a value-added tool.
