Farming

In The Past -
Lawton Hall Farm has been a working farm since at least the early 1700's (a 1731 courthouse fire destroyed earlier records). It was undoubtably a portion of St. Clement's Manor, one of the first manorial grants issued in Maryland. Read more about colonial Maryland here.

Today -
Lawton Hall Farm consists of 134 acres of managed woodland and 62 acres of cleared land. Diveristy is key to small farms such as ours - crops include corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, hay, and wine grapes. We also have a small horse boarding operation, with riding trails and a training arena.
